At Eldorado Natural Spring Water, our entire company philosophy emphasizes our concern for how we treat the environment and preserve our great springs. Taking our part to help care for our natural environment is a pretty huge priority to us! That’s why we have integrated environmental preservation into every aspect of our day-to-day operations. Here’s how we do our part:
100% Recycled Plastic Bottles
We were the first bottled water company in the United States to start using recycled plastic in our water bottles. With its host of benefits, we still don’t see why everyone isn’t doing it! Some of them include:
- Less waste-For our bottles, we use RPET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate) which is just a fancy name for recycled plastic. It not only saves room in landfills, but is also FDA approved and meets the same rigorous safety standards as virgin plastic bottles.
- Less energy and GHG Emissions-We all know that recycling requires a great deal of energy, but when using RPET plastic, we are able to limit both the energy used as well as the overall carbon emissions. Specifically, the energy required to produce our bottles has decreased by 77% while our GHG Emissions have decreased by 58%.
All of our products are manufactured using solar power. That’s right! Our manufacturing facility obtains about 50% of its energy needs from a rooftop 100 kilowatt solar electric system that we installed back in 2009.
Waste from our plant is recycled. Almost 96% of the waste created in our plant is recycled. This includes paper, plastic, and cardboard.
We offer 3-gallon glass bottles. Due to the sheer weight and overall fragility of glass, many water companies have foregone this option. But at Eldorado Natural Spring Water, we saw it as an opportunity to provide you with something you wanted while also helping the environment.
What you can do: Check out our blog post from August about upcycling used platic bottles.
Because Eldorado Natural Spring Water is locally owned and operated, we also take a great deal of pride in how we do business. Whether it’s being eco-conscious or simply making ourselves as available as possible to our customers, we strive to maintain excellence in our industry and in our community. If you would like to learn more about our efforts towards preservation, or if you have a question, please, don’t hesitate to fill out our contact form. Our top priorities are making sure you feel good about the water that goes into your body, and that you feel equally good about helping to preserve this one-of-a-kind planet of ours.
